The Strandkirkefællesskabet supports various initiatives that we feel connected to because their hearts are in the work that they do. For example, we support volunteers from our community running Alpha courses (basic courses in Christianity) in prison.

Is it possible to get a new course in life when things have gone completely wrong?

In 2024 I met Toft, one of the founders of FREE INMATE, at Alpha International’s leadership conference in London. Toft is living proof that a stay in prison can actually be a place where a life transformation can take place through an encounter with Jesus. This encounter can come by participating in PrisonAlpha.

We cannot refrain from financially supporting FREE INMATE because we have already
seen how much good PrisonAlpha does for so many people.

We see FREE INMATE as an extension of the existing prison work. We believe that it can
create valuable communities and relationships that can give even more former inmates
and their relatives hope for a future without crime and with better opportunities for healthy
relationships.

Is it possible to get a new course in life when things have gone completely wrong?
In 2024 I met Toft, one of the founders of FREE INMATE, at Alpha International's leadership conference in London. Toft is living proof that a stay in prison can actually be a place where a life transformation can take place through an encounter with Jesus. This encounter can come by participating in PrisonAlpha.
For years, PrisonAlpha has helped to point to Jesus as a new direction for life through forgiveness, faith and hope for a better future. Worldwide, Alpha is currently offered in more than 400 prisons across 30 countries. And in 2022, more than 22,000 people participated in PrisonAlpha.
After a prison stay, it can be very difficult to again get a foothold in society. FREE INMATE's mission to resocialize ex-inmates by providing a concrete hands-on offer both to former inmates and to their relatives in the form of healthy, relevant and lasting communities as well as mentoring, is therefore a welcome initiative.
I believe in a gracious God. That's why I support FREE INMATE's mission to create gracious communities for both former inmates and relatives.
